The Presets are a Australian dance-punk duo with two highly successful CDs, Beams and Apocalypso. The Presets are Julina Hamilition and Kim Moyes who both trade off playing keyboard, while Julian handles vocals and Kim plays the drums. Their CD Apocalypso won the ARIA "Best Dance Release" along with "Album of the Year". They are highly energetic live and bring a punk show to a electro format. I recommend picking up both CDs and dancing the night away. Check there myspace.com/presets for news and tour dates. I LOVE TURBONEGRO, the Norwegian deathpunk band, has been tearing up stages all over the world since 1989. They combine elements of, glam rock, hardcore punk, and heavy metal for their very special sound. I love everything about them from there hilarious and out of control wardrobe, to there sexually suggestive performances. These guys know what it is to be rock stars in every notion of the word. I hate when I am not the first person to hear about new artists, but we can't always be the first in line. Case in point, Cage aka Chris Palko a New York underground rapper finally getting some time in the lime light. Thanks to the director of his new video and long time friend Shia Lebouf. Cage has been rappin since 1991, dealing with a troubled past which included a heroin using abusive dad, and his own personal bouts with drug addiction. Now clean and on the straight and narrow, Cage is preparing for his 4 CD Depart From Me. His own style of dark, deep rhymes accompanied with abrasive, rock inspired beats, Cage has set himself apart and shedding new light on a over saturated genre. Late of the Pier is a four-piece indie electronic from Castle Donnington, England. Their spastic off the wall sound have won over audiences from england to America. They have been compared to acts like Metronomy and the Klaxons. They guys are just pure energy on stage and provide one of the more entertaining shows. I talked about Angus and Julia Stone earlier,the amazing brother sister duo from Australia. Well Angus has a solo project called Lady of The Sunshine which is one fierce rock folk album. It has a very Bob Dylan, Eric clapton feel with a injection of this generations attitude and feel. MOON

Saw this trailer and this movie is gunna be amazing ! Thank god for people writing and creating new film projects. So done with remakes and comic book movies since they can't fucking get one right. Sam rockwell from Choke, Frost/Nixon and HitchHikers Guide to The Galaxy stars in this moving movie about a man working alone on the moon on the verge of returning home from a 3 year job on the moon, only to encounter something strange, Looks amazing !

Isles and Glaciers

Want to add some more info to this huge news bout possibly the fucking sickiest band super group ever formed. So Isles and Glaciers are Vocalists Craigery Owens(Chiodos) and Johnny Craig(Emarosa)Vic Funetes(Pierece The Veil) Vocals and Guitar,Nick Martin Guitar, Matt Goddard (Chiodos) Bass, Brian Southall - Guitars / Programming ( Receiving End Of Sirens),Mike Fuentes (Pierce The Veil) Drums / Percussion. They gathered together in Seattle for 10 days to write and record. That session spawned a 5 song EP that should be release by late summer. They have performed once together at the ALT. Press tent at SXSW this year. I feel like a little kid at Christmas waiting for this EP, I CAN NOT WAIT to hear it, some of the best musicians and singers in the same band OMG ! check there myspace.com/islesandglaciers for news !

Emarosa

These guys are so amazing! I feel in love with them with their EP This is Your Way Out, a hard rip roaring screamo record. It was after the departure of the the original lead singer and the arrival of ex Dance Gavin Dance singer Johnny Craig that Emarosa found there sound and exploded. Matched with Johnnys beautiful sharp voice, Emarosa ditched the screamo scene and found a sound much more moving and interesting. Their debut lp Revalivity is a blistering calm storm that wins over even the harshest of critics. Check there myspace.com/emarosa and also look for them to be in SD at Epicenter in June !

Zach Galifiankias is one of my favorite comedians of all time. His off the wall humor and slapstick comedy always leaves me in stitches. His live dvd which came out a couple of years ago called Live At The Purple Onion is a true testament to real stand-up comedy, I recommened checking it out !

They are coming back

My Favorite Band of all time Third Eye Blind are Coming Back to San Diego ! I saw them earlier this year at UCSD and had a fucking amazing time ! This band's music has aided me through a lot of difficult times and will continue to cause life always has its ups and downs. Their self titled CD is timeless and covers every aspect of human emotion and evokes such truth and passion. They have their first CD coming out in over 6 years titled Ursa Major, and it seems to have the making for a classic. They released a EP The Red Star which included such songs as Red Star, Non Diary Creamer which I listen to at least 5 times a day, and others, They will be at Humphrey's by the Bay June 14. If you have never seen Third Eye Blind do your self a favor and go. Check Out previously released Cd's: Blue, Out of the Vein and there timeless self titled record.

New York Based band HeartsRevolution have been playing non stop on my computer and ipod. The boy/girl duo go by the names Ben and Lo have been tearing up stages and dancefloors all across the US. They had a blistering performance at this years SXSW whippin the crowd into a dance frenzy. They have a similiar sound to crystal castles with their own twist.
